Witty Habits

Privacy policy

Effective 24 October 2026

This policy describes Witty Habits Publisher, the account owner's local tool for publishing original comedy videos, and this public information site.

Information used by the publisher

The owner authorizes access directly with Google and Meta. The tool uses platform account identifiers and profile information to verify the destination, the owner's approved video and caption/metadata to publish it, and upload/processing/publication identifiers and status to verify the result.

Google access permits uploading and managing YouTube videos, including reading their status and changing visibility. The current workflow uploads privately and promotes an existing video only after release approval. Although the granted permission permits broader editing and deletion, this workflow does not delete channel videos.

The Instagram workflow uses basic profile/media access and content publishing. The owner's current Meta grant also includes messages, comments and insights permissions; the publishing code does not fetch those messages, comments or insights.

When the owner enables daily review email, a separate Google grant verifies the sending Gmail account and permits sending email only. The publisher sends a daily review summary to the owner-selected address. Messages contain story and release details plus local file paths, without video attachments or access tokens. The Gmail grant and send receipts stay in restricted local files; an uncertain send is held for review rather than automatically repeated.

Storage and sharing

Credentials are stored on the owner's computer in private local files with restricted filesystem permissions. Media, review records and upload receipts are stored locally. Signed upload-session URLs and credentials are excluded from public site files and publishing logs. Security of the owner's computer and its backups remains part of protecting these files.

Approved YouTube media and metadata are sent directly to Google. Approved Instagram media can be staged in a private Cloudflare R2 bucket and made temporarily accessible through a signed URL for Meta to fetch. Staging copies under the Instagram prefix have a seven-day expiry rule. Original production files remain local.

Platform information is used to operate and verify this owner-directed publishing workflow. It is not sold, used for advertising profiles or used to train generalized AI models. Witty Habits Publisher's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Retention and control

The owner retains production media and release receipts for editorial records. Credentials remain locally until replaced or removed, or until provider access expires or is revoked. The owner can revoke Google access through Google Account connections and remove the Meta app through Instagram settings. Revoking access stops future authorized API calls; it does not remove videos already posted on a platform.

Visitors to this site

This site has no account form, advertising code, embedded video player or analytics script. Cloudflare hosts the pages and may process connection information such as IP addresses and request/security logs to deliver and protect them. External YouTube, Instagram and Google links are governed by those providers' privacy practices when opened.

Contact and updates

For privacy questions or an owner-held data request, contact @wittyhabits on Instagram. This policy will be updated when the publisher's data practices change.
